Entrepreneurship Programs Coordinator, California Institute of Technology | Pasadena, CA | October 2022-present
Position at the Office of Technology Transfer and Corporate Partnerships:
Marketing/Communications:
- Assumed responsibility for website maintenance from EAS. Besides eliminating outsourcing costs, this has increased the speed and efficiency of program execution. This efficiency has been extremely necessary for carrying out the Bill Gross and Tim Ryan gifts, as both donors asked for programs to be created, developed, and executed, with corresponding websites made, and needed to be acted upon quickly for the program to be carried out in the 2023/2024 academic year. Self-taught the skills in both Wagtail and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (within 2 months of starting the position) to accomplish the following:
- Add 1 main menu page with 5 child pages (Entrepreneurship main page and its 6 child pages – one is private and password-protected). For each page, BC wrote all content, with editing feedback from office managers, and created webpage layout and design.
- Create the website’s yearly statistics graphics using Photoshop and update the website accordingly.
- Work with members of the Licensing team to update the Software Disclosure form as well as the Privacy Policy pages.
- Add two webpages for Corporate Partnerships team.
- Coordinate social media management (LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Re-launch the News section of the website, and write stories about CIC companies, office programs, and other Caltech innovation-related news.
- Write email and printed content, marketing materials, captions, etc. for both inward- and outward-facing communications.
- Join the Communications Council to be an OTTCP presence in the group and to learn how communications are done across campus to apply and integrate strategies in OTTCP.
- Graphics, promotional materials, marketing strategy:
- Took responsibility for the impact report within 2 months of starting at OTTCP, saving the office $4K in graphic design costs for each FY brochure and significantly cutting down on the time to get feedback on the design.
- Create events and promotional material, taking initiative to generate and theme design choices.
- Created a sustainability brochure for a new program for CP that matched a similar 3-fold brochure that EAS had produced, which is also used on the Sustainability Partnership Program page that BC built.
- Created high-res, transparent versions of the office logos for improved usage across multiple media.
- Created mockups of potential alternate office logos in Adobe Illustrator.
- For the Bill Gross Prize, investigated lines of communication across campus for marketing, which was then used to create the marketing proposal and strategy for the Tim Ryan gift. Executes the marketing – creating both digital and physical promotional materials, pushing to various channels – for both gifts.
- The Bill Gross Prize ended up receiving 80 applicants in the first year as a result of the marketing efforts, and the info session event had 50+ attendees, one of the highest turnouts for an event of that type.
- Prior to starting this position, had limited experience with Photoshop and no prior experience with Adobe InDesign or Illustrator. Self-taught skills in all 3 applications (within 2 months of starting the position) to create the flyers, brochures, and logo materials for the office.
- Presented on the office’s goals and local impact to Leadership Pasadena’s 2024 and 2025 cohorts, which were well-received and prompted questions and interest in the office’s work.
Gifts and Student Entrepreneurship Programs:
- Implement programming for the San Pietro, Bill Gross, and Tim Ryan gifts. Most of these duties have been mentioned in other brackets above, though additionally:
- Supports the OTTCP Summer Internship in Entrepreneurship: publishing and monitoring job postings on the CALE portal, communicating with and fielding questions from applicants, and helping to organize, plan, and execute programming.

- Of the 16 historical CIC tenants, fully processed the intake for 13, but has processed renewal, room amendments, and/or adding/removing EAs for 15 of them:
- Learned the skills necessary for these tasks within the first 6 months of her role in preparation for the Director of the Caltech Innovation Center’s maternity leave and upkept some of the Director’s responsibilities over her maternity leave (May 8-November 1, ~6 months). This helped alleviate responsibility-sharing burdens on other Directors in the office.
- In May 2023, CIC monthly rent income was $4584; by November 2023, CIC monthly rent income was $8094. During those 6 months, CIC monthly rent income increased by $3510 (76.6%). Of the 17 total original offices available, 6 rooms were rented in May 2023; by November 2023, 12 were rented out.
